GRAND Mental Health Partners with Broken Arrow Public Schools to Provide In-School Behavioral Health Support
Tuesday, July 9, 2024 (Tulsa, OK.) – GRAND Mental Health is excited to announce their partnership with Broken Arrow Public Schools to provide in-school behavioral health support at selected Broken Arrow Early Childhood Development Centers (ECCs) to children ages 4-5. This coming school year nearly 850 children are estimated to enter the pre-k program in Broken Arrow Public Schools, GRAND team members will be on-site to provide in-classroom support to students as well as additional support to faculty and staff in identifying early signs of behavioral health challenges in pre-k students.
“The goal of this partnership is to keep kids in the classroom as well as provide support to families as they navigate a potentially monumental change in their lives.” says Kelsee McCutchen, GRAND Clinical Director – Tulsa County Outpatient. “Children entering pre-k were born during COVID, and for many this will be their first experience in an educational setting, formal structure with rules and routine in a social environment. Being able to catch early signs of distress or social anxiety and working through their challenges while still in the classroom is important.”
In addition to training specific for their role, each GRAND staff embedded in these schools will be provided training in the Conscious Discipline model. This is being done so that the support GRAND teams provide is directly in line with the values and voice that is already present in the BA ECCs.

GRAND will also be providing behavioral health services in other Broken Arrow schools beyond the Early Childhood Development Centers, including elementary and middle schools. This will
include GRAND therapists, behavioral health coaches, and care coordinators available to provide in-school support directly to students as well as provide after school support to their families.
